Sewists Policy

This policy is part of our Terms of Service. By using our Services to provide services to Clients, you agree to accept our Terms of Service and this policy. 

To ensure we build a community that Clients can trust and where Sewists can be successful, all Sewists on our Platform agree to follow some basic guidelines:

Information about you and your services

  • Services must be provided by the person represented in your account/profile.

  • Your account/profile will contain accurate information about you.

  • Project portfolios must be photos/videos you own of your own work (no stock imagery or use of others’ intellectual property).

  • We encourage you to share how you source your materials.

Information about pricing and projects

  • Sewists agree to honor the price provided at time of purchase. If there are unforeseen costs based on Client requests or project complications, additional costs must be communicated to the Client in writing through the Platform and agreed to by the Client before completing that work.

  • Project work that includes any hate symbols is prohibited on our platform.

  • Sewists will not encourage Clients to move projects or services off of the Platform to avoid our policies and/or fees.

Interacting with Clients and their Items

  • Sewists must provide reasonable protection of Client items, including only being kept in smoke-free spaces, out of reach of pets and children, and not left in vulnerable places at risk of theft.

  • Sewists should communicate an expected return date for a given project within 1 business day of receiving the item(s).

  • Discrimination based on body size/shape, gender expression, race, or sexual orientation are not permitted.

  • Sewists may not use the Platform or any of its messaging features to send Clients unsolicited advertising or promotions, requests for donations, or spam.

  • Sewists should abide by our refund guidelines as well as the Standards of Quality for Custom Clothing as published by the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals, Inc. (https://sewingprofessionals.com/standards-of-quality)

Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in suspension or termination of your account. 

By providing services to Clients through our Platform, you acknowledge and agree that you are responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
